Bank of Scotland website incompatible with most browsers

October 23, 2015

i’ve been a Bank of Scotland customer for 25 years or so and have used their on-line services for years. recently, after an eye candy upgrade, the Bank of Scotland website has become incompatible with most browsers.
after logging in the main accounts page displays put that’s where the functionality stops. much waiting cursors, script files trying to download rather than just run and the whole browser becoming unresponsive for extended periods of time. can’t get through to direct debit details or many other parts of the site.
i’m not a web design guru but i can create sites that display, and are functional, on every browser…even links.
so in my experience the browsers that don’t work (on windows, OS X or linux where applicable) are: google chrome, google chrome canary, firefox, vivaldi and opera. the only three that do (again, for me) are IE11 and edge on windows and safari on OS X. surprising? yes. i’ve been in touch with other people who are experiencing the same thing.
i find this is inexcusable in this day and age. at the moment i need to spin up a windows VM to do any internet banking or use my mac mini.
