just discovered photography calculator which is an android application that helps calculate hyperfocal distances for photography…mostly useful for landscapes but it could be used for macro work too i suppose. you enter your camera type, effective focal length, aperture and distance to subject. it then gives you the hyperfocal distance for focussing. it also includes a field of view calculator…which shows the number of images required for panoramic work. it has details for my sony a200 and 1476 other cameras.
haven’t tried hyperfocal distance technique before so this tool should make things slightly simpler. $2.99 well spent i feel. see below for a couple of screenshots…
