swan and cygnets

a mother swan and her cygnets having a wee wander round maxwell park in glasgow. quite a distance from their pond…i don’t blame them though…the water’s manky. another attempt at recreating the lomo look.

high flats — vignette

as usual i don’t really know when to stop with the processing (using the gimp)…rather overdid the vignette here… going for a stronger lomo feel than usual. quite like the pink hues though.

there’s a hill overlooking this area (mosspark, glasgow) that affords some lovely views of the setting sun. really miss easy-to-access sunsets during the summer period!

googlecl — google command line tool

just heard about googlecl…it may have been doing the rounds for ages but i’m a bit slow on the uptake.

it allows you to interface with various google services using the linux command line. it currently works with calendar, youtube, picasa, blogger and some others.

to add a reminder in your calender for example just issue…

google calendar add “backup wp database before upgrade tomorrow at 10am”

you’ll need to specify your google username and then, if you’re logged in, your browser will open a page asking to allow googlecl access. job done. grab it here.

standing stones — kilmartin glen

visited kilmartin glen last week„,famous for it’s rich history and standing stones. these two were in a field filled with sheep (place called temple wood)…they didn’t seem too interested in us. here’s the area on google maps.
