blog upgrade ¦ wordpress 2.8

an updated version of wordpress is available…version 2.8 which boasts a few new features and many bug fixes.
i did a full back up of the blog and the database and performed an automatic upgrade.
everything seemed fine until i tried to post an entry (this one in fact). the post formatting toolbar was nowhere to be seen. enabling tiny mce made no difference.
others seem to be suffering with this problem too. i wasn’t sure if the cdn tools plugin (which uses the rackspace cloud and google ajax cdn) was to blame but disabling it didn’t help **UPDATE known errors exist with the current version of cdn tools and wordpress 2.8 — an update will soon be released**.
in the end i deleted ‘wp-admin’ and ‘wp-includes’ and replaced them with fresh versions from the 2.8 zip.
cleared firefox’s cache and then logged in normally.
can now post again.
